Need a trucking Safety person to answer this if possible?
I know a driver who is fairly a newbie. Less than two yrs on the road, mostly regional/local. He got a ticket for 21 mph over the posted speed limit in his personal car in his personal auto and then a seatbelt *nonmoving* and then some sort of ticket about "not obeying posted signs in a construction zone".... He went and took the Safety course and paid those tickets, yet has not reported them to his employer and the last two violations were in Sept 08. He has 10 points currently on his driving record. I am a former Safety supervisor and I can't figure out a way for this man to get his points lowered to where he can get another job with his Cl A CDL. I was wondering if anyone here had some ideas. This is the state of IN so I am not sure about things these days. I try to keep up but I am not in that career anymore. I'm disabled now. But I'd like to help him if possible to get another local job where he is home every night. I told him the points is what is getting the best of him. He already paid those tickets so those cases are closed. What is a good next step. My advice was to stay working for who he is working for and be honest with them when they have him sign the form every yr about violations and wait three years till it clears..then he can go someplace else. Was I even remotely close? Please help. I need some answers.
