Who can husband contact in Ohio to help with unfair permanent alimony situation?
My husband is paying his ex $1200/month in permanent alimony. I read that permanent alimony is very rare and only given if the marriage was long (it was) AND the wife has little or no reasonable expectation of employabilty. She has worked throughout their marraige and continues to do so. There are no minor children. She also got all their personal items when they divorced because my husband didn't want to fight over "stuff". When my husband got laid off last year (no fault of his own) one half of his unemployement check went to her. I understand alimony is reasonable under certain situations but what about when it is just WRONG! What kind of attorneys handle these cases? My husband is 56 years old and because of this situation we are living paycheck to paycheck with no sign of being able to retire. Any help would be appreciated!
