Join up/groundwork question?
basically you don't want to follow the horse, you want the horse to follow you . signs of trust are as follows. licking lips, sighing, ing a leg, lowering head, and generally un tensing. get a good natural horsemanship book and learn to do it right from a pro. Good authors are Pat Parrelli Clinton Anderson GaWaNi Pony Boy among the many. In a sentence to join up with a horse he must not be allowed to stop until he will follow u. with most horses you can simply let them into the round pen and begin to chase them, but only until they are going then back off. if the begin to approach you in a dominant manner, send them running until they can approach you with submission or until the just stand there looking at you. at this point take your role as leader and walk away while facing your horse, expecting him to follow, he will but dont trust me or anyone, get a book or hire a pro, thats the sure fire way to get it right
